here so I'll basically uh start describing a little bit how we arrived at a product called Cloud up so actually uh my name is Guillermo Roush I'm the CTO and co-founder of a company called learn boost we actually presented here a couple years ago uh it wasn't me it was my co-founder and one of our community people we were building at the time education software so our goal was to basically revolutionize the classroom through actually real-time collaboration

so we actually set out to do things like attendance and lesson plans and a bunch of features that were related to the day-to-day work of teachers and students I.T admins everyone that did work with a computer at the school and what we found out was that actually is really hard to compete with every single product out there we were in the prolific all of us the early founding team we're all Engineers that had like

dozens of projects dozens of Open Source contributions we created a bunch of the most popular node.js modules out there one of the fastest growing open source Frameworks and what we found though was that uh one of our most successful features was lesson plans so unlike every other feature that we had in our education product Set uh it was one that you could Implement without replacing all the other software at the school so it sort of found its way to sneak in teachers

were able to create lesson plans and share them uh embed them on their blogs link to them without actually replacing too much of what they already knew or were familiar with and they were actually able to merge media together very effectively a lesson plan wasn't simply just text it was the idea that you could combine for example a YouTube video so in that sense we weren't competing with initiatives like Khan Academy we could leverage the growth of new content producers and give for

example the teacher the ability to be creative in which ways can you combine media together so it was sort of a combination of finding our sweet spot in terms of entering the market finding the right features that were specialists in in this case were really good at media we're really good at real-time collaboration we're really good at creating really Snappy experiences and we ended up pivoting to a product that is a lot more simple and actually available to him for everyone to use is
