[Music] hello there everyone welcome to yet another teach giving you thin session today's session will be learning about building hybrid web apps with Daniel so let's meet our teacher Daniel how you doing Daniel I'm very well thank you it's a real pleasure to uh to be here it's a bit of a gray Day in the UK but this makes it
um all all so much brighter well yeah it's it's also a rainy day over here in Nigeria as well so I guess we're sharing that um yeah so if can we have like a little bit of introduction to who Daniel is what you've been doing what you do now and um any other thing you want to share so uh who I am uh deep deep inside so I'm I'm um I'm on the core team of next so I'm I'm which is a web framework for
um for building web apps and I guess we'll talk about that a little bit later uh I'm originally from the US but I live uh and um otherwise reside in the UK in the Northeast I've got uh three cats and a dog um I I love tea and coffee and I've I've got a cup here with me to uh to assist in the coziness of the season
um and uh yeah I think I I love love doing doing exploring the bleeding edge and uh doing doing magic on the web that's that's the kind of thing that makes me excited nice so you are both tea and coffee that's that's good not all you could even cats and dogs not not either or I like it I like it um I'm a cat person
though I don't have any cats but yeah that's really cool so you you um you mentioned you are the core team of next so what were you doing before now like before the next team like yeah what was that before that so but before before next I was um the I I had a small
uh software as a service startup okay it was uh in the HR space so it was providing an employee benefit for for companies who wanted to help um help their employees who either were working parents or wanted to think about what it was to be a working parent or part of a working parent relationship so that that was that was lots of fun um sort of we built built it on next which is how I got started um helping out with the next project
uh and uh but yeah that was that was lots of fun I'm I I love love being in the startup ecosystem coming up with an idea working to find yeah with the market and then and then making it happen for me that's that's a lot of what tech is about is that sort of the magic of idea to reality yeah totally that that makes a whole lot of sense because so um
what about Knox was because you mentioned you were using knocks at yourself um startup so what made you pick next over by any other um Alternatives out there so here's the the thing before that I was uh I ran a small agency uh creative agency we started first uh helping businesses figure out what their message was so very focused on Words and we always were very focused on on Words and
