four years ago we were fortunate enough to create a web framework called nexjs which has become very popular throughout the internet but what few people know is that the journey of nexjs has been very long and a lot has been learned a lot has changed not just about nexjs but about the world of web developers at large i'm going to dive right into my presentation which is called four years of nexjs lessons

learned adversal we've been building this framework together with the community and we've learned a lot but interestingly enough this is not just any framework it's a react framework so you might be thinking who would give a react talk at a view conference and react talk at a view conference

so the answer is this guy so my name is guillermo rauch and i'm the ceo of versailles which is a platform for modern front-end teams to develop preview and ship awesome front-end web projects i also blog at rajuggi.com some of the essays there that you might find later on those are the ones that i'll be

discussing today so take a look at your convenience and i'm streaming to you from san francisco california today follow me later for more tweets around the content that i'm going to be discussing today so the main goal with my presentation today is to share lessons because this is a view conference and perhaps not everything about react might interest you or even be useful to you but the lessons

uh that i'm gonna talk about today were very helpful in how you choose your next framework no pun intended or how you build your next framework if you're so inclined if you participate in open source communities and you're considering building web tooling some of the things that i'm going to talk about today are going to be useful to you because the journey of building nexjs has taught us a lot about building a framework building community but most importantly evolving technology

and evolving technology as i said earlier when things change and when trends change and when new information becomes available to you so why would you be interested in hearing about nexjs from me or even just nexjs at all or even lessons about ninjas so two quick things one next.js is really big so over the past four years nexjs has been deployed to production

at some of the largest and most interesting websites on the internet today over all these logos that you see here today a lot nexjs is running a lot of these experiences their entire.com sometimes part of them but what's interesting is people that have chosen xjs have taken it all the way to very interesting production use cases number two and perhaps this is the most interesting part of the talk nexus and vue are way closer than most people think

and in fact today i'm going to reveal some details about nexx's history that perhaps not many people know about that have been super inspired by the incredible view community and view technology so this is a timeline of the entire history of nexjs started in early 2016 but the first release that made its way to the public domain that we promoted and we talked about
