welcome to spelt radio hey it's another episode of spelt radio we meet once again everyone this time we have another guest it's none other than uh the creator of spelt Rich Harris hello hi I like how you wa the podcast of course we have Sean and Anthony hello hello
so I think this is like the is this the fourth time we on uh I've lost track that sounds about right yeah yeah third or four I guess we're we're privileged to have you on a lot of times the privileg is are mine oh thank you all right so uh what have you guys been up to lately I know Anthony you told me you uh you've had a couple of days off yeah from okay so I can start I had a yeah when I had an
Easter break so we had four days off and then I had two more days on top because I am now the wonderful age of 40 it's my birthday yesterday oh track of birthday congratulations your your life has finally begun yeah yeah yeah um but yeah so you know uh I spent my holiday and extra dayss Yak shaving but Yak shaving in the kitchen rather than Yak shaving a computer which is good I um I bought a new fridge there's actually a weird Twitter thread about it where Ken wheeler starts off by talking about American fridges and I'm like hey I just
got one but I got this fridge and it doesn't fit in our kitchen so I started remanufacturing the kitchen uh chopping apart the units trying to rebuild it so I can get the fridge in there which is great looks wonderful then redid the wiring cuz the wiring was annoying cuz I spotted that I was doing the fridge so I started reading the wiring and rewar all that and then as I was reading the wiring I looked at the the lights under the counter like I don't like these lights under the C so took the lights out and then I started rebuilding my own lights and I like LED strips I've LED strips into there and started soldiering them on my birthday which is the worst
possible you do on your birthday cuz it's absolutely depressing I hate soldiering so much and I burned myself three or four times and now I have no undercounter lighting cuz it's all kind of half done and it's really hard because I like to have things with no wires no visible wires no visible attachments just completely flush and that's a lot harder than it looks and probably not it's not going to look as good as the F I've put into it why didn't you just get a fridge that fits in your kitchen yeah apparently he needs an American fridge did you did you not know until you got the fridge no no we we had an integrated fridge and it a bit
old anyway so I want to get rid of efficiency reasons but I wanted American fridge because we need a bit more storage in our fridge and freezer anyway and I wanted an ice machine built in and water filter built in because I don't like having Brit jugs and and ice ice makers which I have anyway so there's a few reason to get a bigger fridge I had this plan to just chop the end off the kitchen and shove it in the gap which is easy than said said than done um it worked in the end it's all it all looks good and it looks like it's part and parcel but it took a lot of time to actually get that you know that
furniture right that kitchen cabinet cut down correctly that it would fit so that's the reason sounds like you had a great time off but now you got an American fridge it's true now I've got American fridge it's actually German I've got the worst of Both Worlds I live in America but I have a terrible fridge dos of renting why oh yeah that's true that makes sense you can't replace it yeah so Sean what are you what are you up to where are you today last time you
